Cozy Cabin Rooms
Terlingua Ranch Lodge features 32 cabin guest rooms. Each room includes two queen-size beds, a seating area, a writing table, and a dresser. Rooms also provide air conditioning, heating, a private bathroom with a bath, and free toiletries. Each room has a balcony with mountain views. Wi-Fi is available at the Bad Rabbit Cafe and Lodge office. Microwaves, coffee makers, hair dryers, and irons are not provided in rooms.
Dining at Bad Rabbit
The Bad Rabbit Cafe provides meals. The cafe uses made-from-scratch recipes. For large groups, the Cafe offers two rooms that can be separated. These rooms have 17 square tables seating four, one octagon table seating eight, one six-foot table and one eight-foot table, and 66 chairs. A hot and cold buffet table is available, and sack lunches can be arranged. There are no stoves or ovens in the rooms, and cooking indoors or on the porch is not permitted; however, fire rings are available near each porch for outdoor cooking when campfire safety rules allow.
Activities and Amenities
Terlingua Ranch Lodge features an outdoor pool that is open seasonally from March through October, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The lodge provides a bathhouse with showers open 24 hours year-round. Laundry facilities with washers and dryers are available from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Evening entertainment is offered on Fridays and Saturdays in the on-site bar and restaurant. Recreational activities include horse riding and cycling. Other amenities include a barbecue grill and a seasonal cold storage deer/meat locker for hunters. There are facilities available for hiking, stargazing, and ATV/ORV exploring.
Location and Access
Terlingua Ranch Lodge is located between Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park. The lodge is the sole provider of authorized vehicle access to the Christmas Mountains range. The lodge is 60 miles south of Alpine on Texas Highway 118. The last three miles of Terlingua Ranch Road are unpaved. The lodge has an airstrip, Terlingua Ranch Airport 1E2.
Services and Facilities
Terlingua Ranch Lodge includes a gift shop selling souvenirs, t-shirts, and snacks. Ice and water are available for sale. Guests have free access to ranch maps and air hoses. The lodge provides Wi-Fi, a swimming pool, and a laundromat. The office is open seven days a week, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The lodge has RV sites with hookups and a dump station, as well as tent campsites, group campgrounds, and a horse camp.
